PURPOSE
To create a movement in Petra that will include, encourage, train, and equip women to seek the heart of God in relationship and to walk in His ways.
Opportunities
Purposed Power is a monthly "Breakast and the Bible" in depth Bible study . The group is led by Carol McCrary Cooke and meets on the third Saturday of the month.
Tuesday Zoom Bible Study is facilitated by Tammy Woodcock and covers a variety of studies by leading Christian authors.
Meal Ministry is comprised of vounteers who provide meals to families as needed. If you would like to serve, please fill in the form below.

Stay Connected with the Women's Petra Prayer Group using the Echo* App
How the Prayer Group Began:The Women's prayer group started several years ago when a few ladies asked each other to pray for a specific need in a "group" text. Since then, the group has grown beyond the capability of the Apple platform. The platform is limited to "Iphone texting", which means no Androids. It is also limited to the number of participants.What the Group means to the participants: The Petra Prayer group enables us topray for each other and with each other. The ability to respond and update prayer requests has brought a significant benefit to our ladies. The prayer group has evolved into a"connected community" of women who are praying for each other. This "connectivity" is so critical in these times of Covid and social distancing.
How Echo Works:
- Download the Echo Prayer App from the Apple store or Google Play.
- Echo is very similar to texting. After the app is launched on a device, the participant will receive notifications of new requests or responses.
- "Notifications" can be changed or set within the app.
- Multiple images can be added to texts.

Implementation
- We hope to have this completely phased in by September 10.
- Tammy Woodcock will be the Administrator of the Echo App.
- All active participants in the Petra Prayer Group will automatically be added to the Echo group.
*NOTE:This group is limited to women who are desiring to be part of a praying community. The "Petra Prayer Warriors" is a prayer group open to the entire body of Petra Baptist Church. It is possible that you will see duplicate requests. Prayers of a general nature will be added to the "Petra Prayer Warriors" group by Admin. You will be contacted if the request is of a personal nature for permission to post to the Petra Prayer Warrior group.
